Panama was struck by a 5.9-manitude earthquake on Wednesday, Aug 2, 2023 at 8:25 pm local time. The quake struck in the North Pacific Ocean south of David, Panama at a shallow depth of 10km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

The earthquake was felt as light shaking in several cities in Panama and also Costa Rica.
