Moments ago at 4.27am local time , a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Texas, 58 miles south of Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico, USA at a shallow depth of 8km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
The earthquake did not cause any significant damage. It was felt in Mentone (pop. 19) located 23 miles from the epicenter, and Pecos (pop. 9,500) 31 miles away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
