Moments ago, a 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck 38 km northwest of Layyah, Punjab, Pakistan, on Wednesday, Sep 11, 2024, at 12:28 pm (Karachi time) at a depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologis1ts review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Moderate shaking probably occurred in Karor (pop. 25,600) located 24 km from the epicenter, and Layyah (pop. 79,000) 29 km away.
In Fatehpur (pop. 18,100) located 46 km from the epicenter, Taunsa (pop. 44,900) 49 km away, Bhakkar (pop. 82,000) 63 km away, Kot Addu (pop. 104,200) 78 km away, and Dera Ismail Khan (pop. 101,600) 79 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking.
