A ground-rattling 4.2-magnitude earthquake just struck southern Iran, 55 km southeast of Mohr in Fars Province, right as geopolitical heat skyrockets from possible US military actions in the region. The quake struck at a shallow depth of 10km. Happening around 19:11 GMT on February 22, 2026, this tremor couldn’t have timed itself more dramatically against the backdrop of escalating US-Iran tensions. This follows multiple explosions reported today in Tehran, Iran.
