Silvio Berlusconi, 86, the former Italian Prime Minister, has been sent to the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Italy. This comes just three weeks only after he was discharged from the same hospital where he spent 45 days being treated for a lung infection linked to chronic myelomonocytic leukemia.
The billionare media mogul and former three-time premier was expected to spend at least one night in the hospital. Berlusconi’s spokespeople have not responded to requests for confirmation about his hospitalization.
Berlusconi’s Forza Italia Party forms part of the Premier Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing coalition but currently has no Cabinet posts. The former prime minister holds a seat in the Italian Senate. He led the country three times, 1994-1995, 2001-2006 and 2008-2011.
