A large explosion occurred at a fireworks factory in Linli County, Hunan Province, China, on June 16, 2025, at around 8.23am local time. Authorities reporting multiple casualties and ongoing rescue operations. On-site officials reported that nine people have been rescued so far, all with minor injuries, and have been sent to the hospital for treatment.

The incident follows another major industrial explosion less than three weeks earlier at a Shandong chemical plant that killed five people
