Explosion in a key military base in South Korea.

A serious explosion occurred today, September 10, 2025, at a South Korean military base located in Paju, near the country’s northern border with North Korea. The blast injured at least seven to ten soldiers during artillery or training drills, with two individuals suffering serious burns, though none of the injuries are reported to be critical.

The explosion appears to have been caused by munitions or explosives used for training purposes, and authorities are currently investigating the exact cause. Firefighters and military medics responded promptly to the incident. There have been no fatalities reported so far. The South Korean defense ministry has not issued a detailed statement yet as the investigation is ongoing .
