A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck the northwestern region of Turkey approximately 20 minutes ago, sending tremors through Balıkesir and nearby cities, including Istanbul and Izmir. It struck at a depth of 10.40km.

Initial reports from local authorities confirm there are currently no casualties or significant damage, but safety inspections are ongoing and communities remain on alert due to Turkey’s seismic risk profile.
