Moments ago a 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck 20 km east of Quito, Provincia de Pichincha, Ecuador at a shallow depth of 7km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
Weak shaking was felt by towns or cities close to the epicenter. This includes Quito, Sangolqui, Cayambe, Machachi, Otavalo, Atuntaqui, Latacunga and Santo Domingo de los Colorados. More details to follow.
