Minutes ago a 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck 55 km southwest of Quảng Ngãi, Quảng Ngãi Province, Vietnam at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
The earthquake should have not caused any significant damage. Weak shaking was felt in Quảng Ngãi (pop. 33,000) located 55 km from the epicenter, Pleiku (pop. 114,200) 106 km away, and Hoi An (pop. 32,800) 111 km away.
