Moments ago, A powerful magnitude 7.1 earthquake struck 42 km (26 miles) away from San Felipe, Estado Yaracuy,  Venezuela, in the late afternoon of Wednesday, Jun 24, 2026 at 6.04 pm local time. Due to the shallow depth of the earthquake it was felt by most of the country.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

No tsunami threat so far. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
