International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi will lead the latest rotation of its experts at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant next week. This comes as the IAEA and nuclear experts in Ukraine and Russia claimed that there is no short-term risk to the plant’s safety and security due to the damaged Nova Kakhovka dam.
The IAEA is an intergovernmental organization that works with its member states to promote the safe, secure, and peaceful use of nuclear technologies. IAEA’s mission to Zaporizhzhia will provide an opportunity for its experts to assess the situation at the plant and offer guidance on any necessary measures to ensure safe operation.
The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is one of the largest in Europe, and its continued safe operation is of utmost importance. The IAEA’s mission will provide valuable insights into the current state of the plant and help ensure that it continues to operate safely and securely.
