Hostage situation in Tokyo, Japan.

An 80-year old gunman has opened fire at a hospital in the city of Toda wounding two people. Authorities said that the gunman than fled the scene and took two females in their 20s and 30s hostage in a post office in Warabi, just north of Tokyo.

The gunman is reportedly armed only with a pistol. According to broadcaster NHK, one of the hostages was soon after released.
Gun violence in Japan is very rare. There were only 9 shooting incidents last year in the whole country.
Update: Gunman has been detained.
