On Wednesday, local media reported that an explosion in a thermal power plant in Chuzhou City, East China’s Anhui Province killed six workers. The explosion occurred at about 10am local time.

The explosion occurred when the workers were conducting a welding job to seal the leak from the tank. The explosion threw them off the top of the five-metre tank. One worker was killed on the spot, while the other five workers died in the hospital.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the explosion.
