On Thursday September 9 at around noon, LPG tanker Forte De Sao Marcos suffered an explosion in one of its cargo tanks at the port of Aratu de Candeias.

There have been no reports of any injuries or casualties. The fire after the explosion was quickly extinguished by the crew. The explosion seem to have occured during a degassing procedure.
