ISIS claims car bomb attack in Jalalabad, Afghanistan.
It is estimated that there are three dead, 2 security guards and 1 civilian, following a suicide car detonation and gun attack using rocket propelled grenades. At least 12 others were wounded and two attackers have been killed. Around 45 people were rescued from the basement while there was fighting on the upper floors. Afghan commandos joined the fight with the police to try to neutralize the attackers.
The attack happened in Jalalabad, Nangarhar province where the office of the international charity, Save the Children was the target for the attackers. Afghan forces and attackers battled each other for hours. ISIS fighters have been active in Nangarhar province since 2015.
This attack comes after a recent attack on the Intercontinental Hotel in Kabul which resulted in 18 deaths. This attack was claimed by the Taliban.
