Smoke Reported at Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar Oil Field.

Footage shared on social media around an hour ago appears to show thick smoke rising from what the post identifies as Saudi Arabia’s Ghawar oil field. The accompanying claim attributes the incident to a missile strike by Yemen’s Houthi movement. However, the footage’s location, timing and cause remain unverified.

A report published today also states that the Houthis announced a ballistic missile attack on Ghawar, the world’s largest onshore oil field. That report alone does not establish the extent of any damage or confirm a disruption to production.

This is a developing story.
