The $500 million financial aid package to Israel has been approved by the United House of Representatives last Friday. This aid will mostly go to bolster Israel’s Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow missile defense systems.
The aid package forms part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the 2 countries, which is worth $38 billion over a decade.
Out of the total budget allocated for the missile systems, $47.5 million will be for anti-tunnel technology cooperation, $4 million will go towards a collaboration on coronavirus research and $6 million will go for joint Israel-US effort towards Energy and Water programs.
The bill will now reach the senate, where they will amend the bill.
