On Friday, a huge explosion ripped through a supermarket in Gagkaev Street, Vladikavkaz, Russia.

The explosion completely destroyed the one-storey building and left a security guard injured, but so far there has been no casualties. Several shops in the vicinity were also completely destroyed by the shockwave. Debris littered the street.

A guard that was interviewed by RIA news agency said,

I fell asleep when it was nearly morning and woke up from the explosion. I crawled out of there somehow.

The cause of the explosion is believed to be due to a gas leak, but an investigation has been launched by Russia’s Investigative Committee to determine the exact cause of the explosion.
