Minutes ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that a 6.0-magnitude struck Departamento de Susques, 174 km west of Jujuy, Departamento de Doctor Manuel Belgrano, Jujuy, Argentina at a depth of 180km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
Based on seismic data the earthquake should have been felt by a lot of people, but should not have caused any significant damage. Weak shaking was most likely felt in San Antonio de los Cobres (pop. 4,000) located 76 km from the epicenter.
