A 6.6-magnitude earthquake hits Crete, Greece.

Minutes ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a 6.6-magnitude earthquake in Crete, Greece at a shallow depth of 10km.
Since it is still early, the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
The strong earthquake at 9:24 am UTC and was most likely felt by a huge number of people located close to the epicenter. It is not yet known the extent of the damage, but more details to follow.
