The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that an hour ago a 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck 72 km southeast of Fasa, Fars, Iran at a shallow depth of 10km.
Since the earthquake has just occurred, the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
The earthquake was felt as weak shaking in Fasa (pop. 98,100) located 72 km from the epicenter, Dārāb (pop. 63,300) 73 km away, and Gerāsh (pop. 25,300) 78 km away. There was no significant damage.
