Moments ago a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck 39 km northeast of Calama, Provincia de El Loa, Antofagasta, Chile at a depth of 108km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.

The earthquake was felt as weak shaking in Calama (pop. 143,100) located 39 km from the epicenter, and San Pedro de Atacama (pop. 2,000) 80 km away.
