A major 7.5-magnitude earthquake strikes Mexico.

A 7.5-magnitude earthquake just struck 46 Km SSE of La Placita De Morelos, Mexico at a shallow depth of 10km. It struck at 1.05pm local time an hour after the country conducted a nationwide earthquake drill at 12:19pm central time in Mexico City, Mexico State, Michoacan,Guerrero, Tlaxcala, Puebla, Morelos, Chiapas and Oaxaca.
Today marks the fifth anniversary of a 7.1-magnitude earthquake that struck central Mexico, and also the 37th anniversary of an 8.1-magnitude earthquake that wrecked havoc in the capital city.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.
The earthquake was felt as strong shaking by and number of towns and cities located close to the epicenter. Infrastructural damage expected. A tsunami alert has been issued. This is a developing story. More details to follow.
