Strong 5.8-magnitude earthquake strikes Myanmar.

A 5.8-magnitude earthquake struck 123 km west of Myitkyina, Myitkyinā District, Kachin State, Myanmar (Burma) on Wednesday at 5.50pm local time. The earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 10km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

Minimal infrastructural damage is expected. We are awaiting if there are tsunami warnings.
