Australia will spend $186 billion to ramp up its military forces in the next decade, nearly a 40% increase. The escalating tensions in the Indo-pacific zone is causing some unease in Australia.
Prime Minister Scott Morrisson said in a policy speech at Australia Defence Force Academy, ‘We must face the reality that we have moved into a new and less benign strategic era’.
‘Even as we stare down the COVID-19 pandemic at home, we need to also prepare for a post- COVID world that is poorer, that is more dangerous, and that is more disorderly’, he said.
Australia will also increase investment in defense space capabilities and cybersecurity. The latter is considered to very critical, as it had been targeted in a series of attacks recently, mostly likely to have been carried out by China.
India has to take a cue from this.

They definitely should, but i believe it might be a little too late, but i guess better late than never. China is flexing its muscles alot lately and that should terify any country in the vicinity.

It’s never late. One has to start sometime. Maybe it should have been a planned move rather than a reaction to China. Nevertheless, we better get out of our slumber or be ready to perish.
