On Monday, an explosion ripped through an ammunition store at the Libyan Army’s headquarters in Janzour, 15km away from Tripoli. The Fursan Janzour Brigade, responsible for the ammunition store posted on its official Facebook page, that the explosion occurred due to an electrical short-circuit, that led to an explosion.
Soon after the explosion, people were panicking, as some believed it to be an inter-militia attack, though later reports showed there were no reports of any fighting in the surrounding area.
The explosives were old bombs collected and stored after the attack on Tripoli. These old explosives were meant to be disposed of, but due to the electrical short circuit, all the old explosives exploded. Only the storehouse was damaged.
