A huge leak has revealed explicit details about two million CCP members, mostly from Shangai. The leak is considered to be one of its kind to hit China, and has revealed how China’s Communist Party system operates under President Xi Jinping.

It is believed to be the first leak of its kind in the world. What’s amazing about this database is not just that it exposes people who are members of the communist party, and who are now living and working all over the world, from Australia to the US to the UK

The leak is a register of around 2 million CCP names, which includes ID number, birthday, party position and ethnicity. The leaked document has revealed that several party figures are linked to some of the biggest companies in the World, and also inside government agencies.

The security breach will most likely affect how China operates with foreign companies. Several party members embedded in the biggest companies in the World (mostly US companies), answer to their President Xi Jinping, which could confirm Chinese espionage on several US and non-US mega- billion companies. Ms. Markson said,

It is also going to embarrass some global companies who appear to have no plan in place to protect their intellectual property from theft. From economic espionage.

The data was apparently obtained in April 2016 from a Shanghai server by Chinese whistle-blowers and dissents. It was used for Counter-intelligence and the data has been eventually leaked in Mid- September.

It was then leaked in mid-September to the newly-formed international bi-partisan group, the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China- and that group is made up of 150 legislators around the world. It was then provided to an international consortium of four media organisations, The Australian, The Sunday Mail in the UK, De Standaard in Belgium and a Swedish editor, to analyse over the past two months, and that’s what we’ve done.

Even though espionage has not been confirmed yet, it is vital to investigate whether huge companies were aware of the CCP members embedded in their companies.
