The United States Geological Survey (USGS) just reported that a moderate magnitude 3.8 earthquake struck 15 km North of Dyer, Nevada, United States at 12.44 GMT. The quake had a shallow depth of 16km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

The nearest town to the epicenter is Bishop, located 58 km away, with a population of 3,800 inhabitants. It is likely that most residents did not feel the earthquake.
