On Saturday morning, a convoy of six trucks exploded in Peru’s central highway after rocks fell from a hill and hit a truck carrying gasoline. The highway connects several central Andean cities. The moment that the rocks hit the first truck fuel immediately leaked out and ignited, causing a chain explosion to occur a few moments later.
National Police Chief Colonel Erlyn Silva was interviewed in a local TV where he explained what happened in the highway.
A rock hit the first vehicle and as a result of that impact, it broke the tank, and that caused a spill to occur for many meters along the road, and that spill caught fire immediately at the time of the explosion.

The Firefighting department sent ten fire engines to the area. Unfortunately, a number of casualties have been reported.
