The violence between Israel and Gaza seems to be escalating prompting the United Nations to warn that the conflict could turn to a full-scale war. On Wednesday, Hamas continued launching rockets into Israel, while IDF continued its airstrikes on Gaza as both sides showed no signs of stopping.
Stop the fire immediately. We’re escalating towards a full-scale war. The cost of war in Gaza is devastating & is being paid by ordinary people. UN is working w/ all sides to restore calm. Stop the violence now.

Yesterday, a Hamas rocket hit an Israeli energy pipeline located between the cities of Eilat and Ashkelon. A video broadcast by Channel 12 showed massive blaze from a large fuel container that was hit. On the same day, Gaza was bombarded by Israeli missiles killing several Hamas commanders and civilians. Today the Al-Shourouk high-rise building in Gaza was targeted by a missile strike and collapsed, a day after several videos surfaced of an apartment building in Gaza targeted by another missile strike causing it to collapse.

The surge in violence has also spread to mixed Jewish Arab cities, where civilians are now assaulting each other. In Bat Yam, a Jewish mob assaulted an Arab man, while in Acre a Jew was attacked by Arabs. Vandalism and arson have become rampant in mixed cities as hooligans seem to have taken control of the streets.
Israel’s Prime Minister went to the city of Lod where violence forced the authorities to declare a state of emergency. Prime Minister Netanyahu talked to the local leaders to discuss most probably a strategy to quell the violence. He said that military reinforcements will be sent to mixed cities to quell the violence.

Israeli’s airstrike campaign in Gaza killed at least 56 people, including 14 children. It is estimated that around 335 people were also wounded in the attack. According to Israeli authorities, at least 15 of the dead were Hamas militants. In Israel 6 citizens died due to the rocket attacks launched by Hamas. Just last night, around 130 rockets hit Tel Aviv, with the Iron Dome air defense system intercepting most of them. Some managed to pass through the missile defense and struck Tel Aviv setting a bus ablaze and killing one woman.

President Joe Biden is believed to have had a conversation with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu moments ago. President Biden said that Israel has the right to defend itself but hopes that violence will come to an end.
I had a conversation with Bibi Netanyahu not too long ago. My expectation and hope is that this will be closing down sooner than later, but Israel has a right to defend itself when you have thousands of rockets flying into your territory
US President Joe Biden.
“Israel has the right to defend itself”
… the same as any other country. But that’s irrelevant and besides the point. A typical American statement. Israel is not defending itself but on a long-term offensive. The Palestinians are clearly in the defensive position here, fighting for their ever smaller territory and for mere survival.
