Pope Francis hospitalized.

On Sunday, Pope Francis, 84, was admitted to Rome hospital for intestinal surgery. The Holy See Press Office said, that he has ‘symptomatic diverticular stenosis of the colon’. It is the narrowing of the large intestine.
The surgery will be performed by Prof. Sergio Alfieri. A new medical bulletin will be issued at the end of the surgery.

It is unknown when the operation will occur, but the Pope looked in good health when he delivered the weekly prayers on Sunday hours before being admitted to the hospital. He made no mention of his upcoming trip to the hospital on the same day, but in the previous week he asked worshippers to pray for him.
