A 5.2-magnitude earthquake strikes near Santiago, Ecuador.

An hour ago USGS reported that a 5.2-magnitude earthquake struck Datem del Marañon, Loreto, 193 km east of Cuenca, Provincia del Azuay, Ecuador at a very shallow depth of 2km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quakes might revised later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their report.
The quake was most likely felt by a lot of people close to the epicenter. Weak shaking most likely was felt in Santiago (pop. 4,600) located 130 km from the epicenter, Macas (Morona, Morona-Santiago) (pop: 23,700) 156 km away from the epicenter, Azogues (Cañar) (pop: 34,900) 184km away from the epicenter and Cuenca (Azuay) (pop: 277,000), 193km away from the epicenter.
