Lionel Messi arrived in Barcelona airport where he will soon head to Paris to complete his transfer to Paris Saint Germain (PSG). He made a contract for two years with PSG where he will make around €35 million a year. The contract has the option to be extendes by another year. Hundreds of supporters are already at Bourget airport and also at PSG’s Parc des Princes stadium waiting for his arrival.

Messi, hiw lawyer and his father were in talks with Barcelona since Thursday in an attempt to stay with the team. The attempt failed as Barcelona said that they could not keep the player due to their finance situation. Messi had agreed a five-year contract with Barcelona worth €20 million a year, but still, they refused. Messi is expected to sign his contract today when he arrives in Paris ending his 17-year career with Barcelona.

Last Sunday, at a press conference in Barcelona he wept while saying that he would have preferred to stay with Barcelona as it is his home. He said he loves the team and the country, and he will find it difficult to adapt.
