An hour ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a 4.8-magnitude earthquake 57 km north of Gazli, Bukhara, Uzbekistan at a shallow depth of 10km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.

Towns or cities that might have felt a weak shaking include Gazli (pop. 11,400) located 57 km from the epicenter, Baumana (pop. 26,500) located 106 km from the epicenter, and G’ijduvon Shahri (pop. 41,100) 120 km away.
