A 5.0-magnitude earthquake strikes Portugal.

Moments ago the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported a 5.0-magnitude earthquake in the North Atlantic Ocean, Portugal at a shallow depth of 10km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports.

Towns or cities that are close to the epicenter of the earthquake most likely felt a moderate shaking, but no damage to infrastructure is expected.
