A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck the Caribbean Sea, 268 km northeast of La Ceiba, Departamento de Atlantida, Honduras, at a shallow depth of 10km.

As usual, the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.

It was most likely felt by a number of towns or cities that are close to the epicenter. These include Savannah Bight, Trujillo, Tocoa, Roatan Town and La Ceiba. More details to follow.
