A 6.9-magnitude earthquake strikes Nicaragua.

The country of Nicaragua was struck by a strong 6.9-magnitude earthquake just minutes ago. The earthquake struck near Nicaragua, Rivas, Nicaragua at a shallow depth of 5km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
The strong earthquake was most likely felt in a number of towns or cities located close to the epicenter. These include Masachapa, San Rafael del Sur, Diriamba, El Crucero, Jinotepe, Nagarote, San Marcos, La Paz Centro, Leon, Managua and Isla de Ometepe Island. It is not yet known if there was any damage and any injuries. Possible tsunami.
There is no tsunami threat to the coast of Washington and Oregon.
