A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck 8.4 km north of Albstadt, Tuebingen, Baden-Württemberg, Germany 15 minutes ago. The earthquake struck at a shallow depth of 8.6km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.

The earthquake was felt as weak shaking in Jungingen (pop. 1,500) located 5 km from the epicenter, Hechingen (pop. 19,400) 7 km away, Albstadt (pop. 46,700) 8 km away, Balingen (pop. 34,400) 11 km away, Mössingen (pop. 20,000) 13 km away, Rottenburg (pop. 42,700) 21 km away, Tübingen (pop. 83,400) 26 km away, and Reutlingen (pop. 112,600) 27 km away.
