A 5.8- magnitude earthquake strikes Chile.

Just moments ago a 5.8-magnitude earthquake stuck near the coast of Central Chile at a shallow depth of 5km. This occured a minute after a 5.3-magnitude earthquake near Valaparaiso. The strong 5.8-magnitude earthquake was followed by several aftershocks at 5.1-magnitude.
As is usual, the exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might still be changed again later on as seismologists review their data and calculations, or else as other agencies issue their own reports, but it is unlikely.
Several towns or cities located close to the quake most likelt felt a weak to moderate shaking. No tsunami expected.
