Multiple emergencies crews are currently responding to a huge fire at the NYPD Evidence Control & Impound warehouse. Thick black smoke emanating from the warehouse could be seen from the warehouse. The fire seem to have started on Columba Street in Red Hook which forms part of the Erie Basin Marine Pound.

FDNY officials said that at least eight people were injured in the accident, but all had minor injuries. Three of the injured were firefighters. It is not known the extent of the damage, and what caused the fire. Once the building is safe, investigators will start their work.
