A 4.1-magnitude earthquake strikes California.

Just moments ago, EMSC reported that a 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck 25 miles east of Salinas, Monterey County, California at a very shallow depth of 4.5km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

The earthquake was most likely felt in several towns or cities which include Soledad, Greenfield, Hollister, Salinas, Prunedale, Gilroy, Watsonville and Sacramento.
