A 6.0-magnitude earthquake strikes near Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan.

Moments ago EMSC reported a 6.0-magnitude earthquake in the North Pacific Ocean, 76 km east of Kushiro, Hokkaido, Japan at a shallow depth of 10km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
The earthquake was felt in Kushiro (pop. 183,600) located 67 km from the epicenter, Nemuro (pop. 31,200) 73 km away, Shibetsu (pop. 21,700) 101 km away, and Motomachi (pop. 23,000) 146 km away, the quake should have been felt as light shaking. No tsunami threat issued.
