Moments ago a 6.2-magnitude earthquake struck in the Indian Ocean, 64 km southwest of Padangsidempuan, North Sumatra, Indonesia at a depth of 98km.
The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Towns or cities located close to the epicenter include Padansidempuan and Singkil. It was felt in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
