A major emergency response is underway after a building collapsed in Brooklyn, New York. A number of people were inside the building during its collapse. The basement floor of a building in the 1266  50th Street between 12th and 13th avenues in Borough Park collapsed shortly after noon.

According to FDNY one person died in the accident. The victim, 33, was a construction worker and has since been removed from the rubble by firefighters.
