7.4-magnitude earthquake in Papua New Guinea.

Minutes ago, Papua New Guinea was struck by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake at 6.22am Port Moresby time. The quake struck near the North Coast of Papua New Guinea at a depth of less than 40km.

The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

Strong shaking was felt in Wewak, Angoram and Ambunti, all less than 60 miles from the epicenter. Tsunami threay excluded.
