Israel says Ali Larijani, one of Iran’s top security officials, was killed in an overnight strike, in what could become a major turning point in the Iran-Israel conflict. Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz made the announcement on Tuesday, while early reports indicated there was no immediate official confirmation from Iran.

Larijani has long been a key figure in Iran’s political and security establishment, with past roles including parliament speaker and senior involvement in national security affairs.

If confirmed, his death would mark one of the highest-profile losses for Iran during the current war and could trigger further military and political escalation across the region.
