Mexico reports more than 9000 daily COVID-19 cases for the first time.

On Saturday, Mexico reported 9,556 daily coronavirus cases and 784 deaths. Mexico has now more cases than UK, placing it in the top three countries with the highest number of deaths in the world. A total of 47,472 deaths and 434,193 cases have been recorded since the pandemic began in Mexico. The other countries that have a worse death toll is Brazil and United States.
Mexico was one of the countries that eased the strict restrictions that were imposed early on in the pandemic. WHO reported that most countries that eased their restrictions are now reporting outbreaks and a consistent increase in daily coronavirus cases.
Lorena Rodriguez Bores, a technical secretary of the National Council of Mental Health said that there is a significant increase in ‘Compassion fatigue and burnout’ affecting healthcare workers.
