Millions of people in Philippines return to lockdown.

Philippine authorities imposed a two week lockdown in Manila and four neighbouring villages on the island of Luzon. Going out is only permitted to purchase essential goods and outdoor exercise.
Domestic flights were grounded and public transportation stopped. Restaurants can only offer takeaways. The new lockdown was imposed after a surge in cases is threatening the Philippine healthcare system.
On Sunday, the Philippine authorities reported 5,032 new cases. The soaring numbers of infected is resulting in some hospitals refusing a large number of patients, as hospitals are being overloaded.
The new lockdown was initially proposed on Saturday by 80 medical associations, after they called on President Duterte to impose a lockdown to curb the spread of the virus.
The total number if cases since the pandemic began is 106,330 and 2,104 deaths.
