The President of the United States Donald Trump, 74, and his wife Melania Trump, 50, tested positive for COVID-19.
On Friday morning, Donald Trump said that he and First Lady Melania Trump tested positive, after one of his closest aides, Hope Hicks, had contracted the virus. His aide was tested positive on Thursday. Trump tweeted,
Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER.
Donald Trump physician Sean Conley later released a statement where he said that Donald Trump, and his wife Melania Trump ‘are both well at this time, and they plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence. Rest assured I expect the President to continue to carry out his duties without disruption while recovering, and I will keep you updated on any future developments.’
This development could hamper his efforts to continue his election campaign.
